For Jennylyn Mercado, beauty has long been more than an extension of her career — it has been part of her everyday ritual. After decades in front of the camera as one of the country’s most recognizable actresses, the Ultimate Star is channeling that firsthand experience into a new venture with the launch of DLN Skin, a makeup and skincare brand rooted in simplicity, innovation, and skin confidence.

Officially unveiled at Blue Leaf Cosmopolitan in Quezon City, DLN Skin debuted with its hero product, the DLN Intuitone Skin Tint, introducing what the brand describes as a new approach to beauty — one that embraces healthy-looking skin without an overly layered routine.

The launch, themed “Where Structure and Senses Meet Skin,” transformed the venue into an immersive experience, inviting celebrity friends, makeup artists, designers, industry partners, members of the media, and beauty creators to discover the brand through installations that engaged the senses of sight, smell, hearing, touch, and taste. The concept mirrored DLN Skin’s philosophy: beauty is as much about the experience as it is about performance.

At the heart of the event was a candid conversation with Mercado, who reflected on the three-year journey of bringing the brand to life.

“It really started as a need that we turned into an opportunity three years ago,” Jennylyn recounted. “Makeup and skincare have always been part of my daily life as an actress and a public figure, so there are certain things I look for in my makeup and skincare products to best suit my sensitive skin.”

Years spent under studio lights and in makeup chairs shaped Mercado’s perspective on what modern beauty should deliver. Rather than adding another complexion product to an already crowded market, she envisioned a formula that would feel intuitive — easy to apply, effortless to blend, and thoughtfully formulated for sensitive skin.

“That’s when the idea of creating my own brand came about,” she shared. “It took us three years to get here, so I’m very proud of how far we’ve come and, of course, excited to share the DLN Intuitone Skin Tint with everyone. I hope they’ll enjoy it as much as I do.”

The result is a skin tint designed to blur the traditional line between makeup and skincare. Available in Light, Medium, and Dark shades, the DLN Intuitone Skin Tint is powered by the brand’s proprietary Intuitone Technology, allowing the formula to adapt to the wearer’s complexion for a seamless, skin-like finish that enhances rather than conceals.

The formula also reflects the growing shift toward hybrid beauty. Anchored by MC-PDRN, an ingredient recognized for supporting skin repair and collagen production, it combines complexion coverage with skincare-driven benefits. The formula also features niacinamide to help improve skin tone, hyaluronic acid for hydration, witch hazel leaf water to refine the appearance of pores, Vagestop to help reinforce the skin barrier, Mimiskin to nourish and protect the skin, and SPF 50 for broad-spectrum sun protection.

For Mercado, the intention was never to complicate beauty but to make it more intuitive.

“We wanted to simplify beauty through science-backed innovation,” Jen added.

Even with its skincare-focused formulation, Mercado is careful to position the product as part of a holistic beauty routine rather than a replacement for one.

“It’s a skin tint first and foremost. You can use it as a makeup base, a daily sunscreen option, or simply as a quick fix before you leave the house so you can look and feel confident.”
