Three surrender over killing of ex-Leyte vice mayor, son

TACLOBAN CITY — Three suspects in the killing of former Abuyog, Leyte Vice Mayor James Bohol and his son, Carlou James Bohol, surrendered to authorities upon arriving in Metro Manila on Tuesday night.
The suspects were identified as businessman Mark James Taboy, 30; college student Kim Solayao, 27; and Reniel Galza, 24. All are residents of Barangay Amandayehan, Basey, Samar.
According to the Pasay City Police Station, the three voluntarily surrendered at around 10 p.m. on 30 June. They will be escorted back to Leyte and turned over to the appropriate police unit.
The suspects are believed to have abducted the father and son from their office inside a warehouse in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Mayorga, Leyte, at around 1 p.m. on 27 June.
On Tuesday, two bodies were discovered in a ravine about seven to eight meters deep along a roadside in Barangay Imelda, Silago, Southern Leyte, about a kilometer from the town proper.
The Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8) confirmed that the recovered bodies were those of the two individuals previously reported missing in Mayorga. Their identities were confirmed by their families.
Before the bodies were found, the former vice mayor's daughter appealed for help on social media after the three suspects were reportedly seen boarding a ferry at Sta. Clara Port in Allen, Northern Samar, bound for Matnog, Sorsogon. At the time, the whereabouts of her father and brother remained unknown.
PRO-8 said it is exhausting all investigative and operational efforts to resolve the case, with investigators continuing to gather and process evidence for the filing of appropriate charges.
