Police find improvised .38-caliber firearm, knife in Cagayan students' bags

CAGAYAN — Police recovered an improvised .38-caliber firearm and a knife from the school bags of two students at the Aparri School of Arts and Trade in Aparri, Cagayan, on Friday.
Authorities identified the students as a 15-year-old Grade 10 student and a 14-year-old Grade 8 student.
Personnel from the 1st Mobile Force Platoon of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company conducted the inspection at around 11 a.m. on 26 June in the presence of the school principal.
During the inspection, police found an improvised .38-caliber firearm in the Grade 10 student's bag and a knife in the Grade 8 student's bag.
When questioned by authorities, the students reportedly said they brought the weapons because of personal grudges and their intention to cut classes.
The incident remains under investigation.
