The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology observed ash emissions from the summit of Mayon Volcano in Albay on Tuesday afternoon.
In a post on its social media accounts, PHIVOLCS released time-lapse footage showing seismic activity at the volcano that led to the release of a grayish to brownish plume rising about 1,000 meters above the crater.
The agency said the emission began at 1:50 p.m., with the plume drifting toward the southwestern side of the volcano.
Mayon remains under Alert Level 3, with entry into the six-kilometer Permanent Danger Zone strictly prohibited, according to PHIVOLCS.
The incident marked the 49th consecutive day of recorded volcanic activity and the 41st day that Mayon has remained under Alert Level 3.
