The Philippine Army (PA) announced Wednesday its new Assistant Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations (G7) and Chief for Law of Armed Conflict.
The PA said a Joint Assumption of Chiefs of Office Ceremony was presided over by Army Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Christopher C. Tampus at Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, on 16 February, where Col. Francisco L. Molina Jr., who earlier took post as the Assistant Division Commander of the 10th Infantry Division, succeeded Brig. Gen. Eufracio G. Malig Jr. as the Assistant Chief of Staff for G7.
Brig. Gen. Malig served as G7, PA from January 2024 to February 2026. During his watch, he sustained efforts to counter Terrorist Groups’ White Area Operations and supported both Internal and External Security Operations undertakings, particularly in fostering patriotism and nationalism.
Meanwhile, Col. Molina previously served as the Executive Officer of the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations, Armed Forces of the Philippines (OJ7, AFP). He also held key command and staff positions such as OJ7, AFP Strategic Communication Division Chief and Commanding Officer of the 23rd Infantry Battalion of the 4th Infantry Division.
Col. Carlo Franco A. Pimentel also took post as the Army's Chief for Law of Armed Conflict, whose mandate is to ensure that the Army fights with honor and within the bounds of local and international laws. Col. Pimentel previously served as the Philippine Army’s Deputy Internal Auditor. He succeeded Col. John Sebastian C. Fuerte, who retired earlier this year.
“I look forward to working closely with all of you. Together, we will address the evolving needs and priorities of the Army. I expect nothing less than your full dedication and your commitment to your new designation,” Maj. Gen. Tampus said in his keynote remarks during the ceremony.
