Less than a day away from Chinese New Year, the Quezon City Police District announced that it will be allocating 478 officers to the city’s Chinatown district in Banawe.
QCPD Police Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio said the initiative is meant to ensure a peaceful and orderly celebration for all participants.
Aside from crowd control, officers will also assist in traffic management, emergency response, and public safety information dissemination within the area.
“We want everyone celebrating the Chinese New Year to enjoy the festivities safely. Our personnel will ensure peace and order, smooth traffic flow, and prompt assistance in any situation,” Silvio said.
The Quezon City Government advised individuals going to Banawe to bring tumblers, fans, bags, and foldable umbrellas or raincoats in case of rain, through its social media account.
Its post also noted that large purses, fragile items, laser pointers, and other prohibited objects will not be allowed at the event.
