The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Friday reported the recovery of additional evidence linked to the killing of Diane Mollenido and her eight-year-old child.
Police Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio said operatives from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, Novaliches Police Station 4, and the Quezon City District Forensic Unit conducted a joint operation at the residence of Pia and Christian Panganiban in Novaliches, Quezon City.
According to Silvio, authorities recovered traces of suspected blood and nine strands of hair believed to belong to the victim. Investigators also retrieved five pieces of styrofoam, which police said may have been used to conceal the firearm allegedly used in the killing.
“The recovery of these additional pieces of evidence strengthens our case and will help ensure that the suspects are held fully accountable under the law. We will continue gathering all necessary evidence to ensure justice for the victims,” explained Silvio.
The latest operation forms part of the ongoing investigation into the deaths of Mollenido and her son. The development comes after the arrest of the Panganibans and the retrieval of CCTV footage from a motel where the suspects reportedly stayed after allegedly discarding the victims’ bodies last week.
