January 2026 marked a milestone for global esports as the M7 World Championship of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang unfolded in Jakarta, bringing together the world’s top teams and fans on one international stage.
From 23 to 25 January, select winners of a promotional campaign by GCash and Visa witnessed the championship live, gaining exclusive access to tournament events and curated fan experiences at the Jakarta venue.
For Filipino esports supporters, the tournament reached a high point as Aurora Gaming PH clinched the M7 World Championship title, securing a historic back-to-back victory and extending the Philippines’ dominance to six consecutive world championships. The win resonated beyond the arena, sparking celebrations among fans both overseas and at home.
Beyond the matches, attendees engaged with interactive fan activities at the GCash booth, where they learned about digital payment solutions tailored for gamers. The GCash Card was offered with promotional discounts, along with in-game rewards, highlighting its use for both gaming-related and everyday transactions.
To bring the championship experience closer to local fans, GCash also organized simultaneous watch parties across key locations in the country, including SM Mall of Asia, Ayala Malls Cebu, and Ayala Malls Atria Iloilo. The events drew Filipino gamers together as they rallied behind Aurora Gaming PH and Team Liquid Philippines on the global stage.
Following the tournament, GCash said it would continue supporting the local gaming community by offering payment options designed for international and domestic purchases, including card-based transactions, QR payments, installment plans, and in-game credit top-ups.
