Mayor Marjorie Ann Teodoro called on residents and village officials Monday to revive the “Tapat ko, Linis ko” campaign, a local initiative emphasizing individual responsibility for neighborhood cleanliness.
Speaking during a flag-raising ceremony, Teodoro said the city’s inter-agency task force has begun comprehensive operations to clear every street and alley of obstructions and debris to ensure public safety.
“The inter-agency task force is just the beginning — a clear message that we are serious about order,” Teodoro said. “This is not just a simple cleanup. We are checking every street and alley in every barangay to ensure our surroundings are orderly, safe and pleasant.”
However, the mayor warned that local government efforts would be futile without the long-term cooperation of the community. She urged residents to maintain the cleanliness of their own frontages even after the task force has moved on to other areas.
