The Pasay City Police Station apprehended a top-one most wanted person at the provincial level of Sorsogon at his residence in Barangay 73, Pasay City on Saturday night.
The suspect, identified only by the alias Ronald, 43, construction worker, was arrested by operatives of Pasay City Police Station Sub-Station 10 through the effective service of multiple warrants of arrest issued by Judge Zach Zaragoza Ziga of Sorsogon City Regional Trial Court Branch 12 for five counts of sexual assault and four counts of rape, all classified as heinous crimes.
The court recommended P200,000 bail for each count of sexual assault, while no bail was recommended for the rape charges.
After the arrest, the suspect was subsequently turned over to the station's warrant and subpoena section for proper documentation prior to his commitment to the court of origin.
Southern Police District (SPD) Director P/Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo commended the operating units that directly served the warrant of arrest and ensured the lawful apprehension of the suspect:
Arceo emphasized that the Southern Police District will continue to intensify manhunt operations against wanted persons, especially those involved in crimes against women and children, and will sustain coordination with police units nationwide to ensure that offenders are brought before the courts.
