Regal Entertainment has announced “Almost Us” as the launching film of the much-watched pairing JMFyang, starring Fyang Smith and JM Ibarra.
Set for a nationwide theatrical release on 6 May, the film marks the duo’s first full-length romantic lead project following a string of high-profile appearances together.
Directed by Dan Villegas, Almost Us is a collaboration between Regal Entertainment and Project 8, the award-winning production outfit co-founded by Villegas and Tonette Jadaone.
The partnership signals a return to character-driven romance, positioning the film as an emotionally grounded offering aimed at young audiences and longtime fans of Filipino love stories.
Smith and Ibarra were last seen in the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins, which emerged as the festival’s second highest-grossing film.
The big-screen success followed their hit iWant series Ghosting, further cementing their popularity as a screen tandem and building anticipation for their first romantic feature together.
