This 2026, Louis Vuitton is proud to celebrate 130 years of the creation of the Monogram — the emblematic canvas created in 1896 by Georges Vuitton as a tribute to his father, Louis — visionary founder of the fashion house.

Today, the brand takes pride in celebrating more than a century of the creation of the emblematic canvas and welcomes the year by honoring the Monogram iconic bags. These true heritage masterpieces of the house now comes in new, special-edition bag collections.

The Monogram was a pioneering stroke of genius from inception. Georges Vuitton personally designed the intricate pattern—interlaced LV initials and a bold floral motif. Inspired by Neo-Gothic aesthetics and Japonism, its primary purpose was authenticity, safeguarding the house’s creations after the earlier striped canvas and Damier designs. Louis Vuitton opens its Monogram 130-year anniversary by celebrating its three exclusive capsule collections, namely, The Monogram Origine, Vache Végétale Naturelle (VVN) and Time Trunk Collections. These embody the dialogue between heritage and invention while reinterpreting classic savoir-faire through contemporary artistry. 

Each collection honors a different facet of the house’s legacy: the poetry of canvas, the purity of natural leather and the visionary saovoir-faire of the trunk-maker’s art. Together, they express the living essence of Louis Vuitton – where innovation, beauty and timeless design continue to travel hand-in-hand.

The Monogram Origine collection pays tribute to Louis Vuitton’s heritage by merging a vintage aesthetic with contemporary design, drawing inspiration from a 1908 client register. This new coated canvas, composed of a linen-and-cotton blend with a soft, satiny finish, reinterprets the iconic Monogram using historic and pastel hues.

The VVN collection (Vache Végétale Naturelle) celebrates a Louis Vuitton signature since 1880. This pale, vegetable-tanned cowhide embodies the house’s heritage of purity and savoir-faire, evolving with a distinctive patina. The collection reimagines iconic shapes in supple, elevated iterations. Each piece features artisanal hallmarks, from monogrammed jacquard linings to detachable nametags. VVN is a testament to noble simplicity —- a rare, living emblem of craft that deepens in character over time.

The Time Trunk collection brilliantly transforms Louis Vuitton’s heritage, blending artistry with pure innovation. Each bag features an ultra-realistic trompe-l’oeil print. This is high-definition canvas capturing the historic trunks’ glossy finish, aged patina, metal corners and rivets.
