Several areas across the Visayas have announced class suspensions for Wednesday, 4 February, due to inclement weather brought by Tropical Depression Basyang.
Classes at all levels in both public and private schools are suspended in the following areas:
Amlan, Negros Oriental (face-to-face classes only)
Carmen, Cebu
Danao City, Cebu
Kananga, Leyte
Manjuyod, Negros Oriental
Santa Maria, Davao Occidental
Meanwhile, rainfall of 50 to 100 millimeters is forecast over Eastern Samar, Southern Leyte, the Dinagat Islands, Caraga provinces, parts of Northern Mindanao, and the Davao Region.
Heavy rains are expected to expand from Thursday evening to Friday evening, 6 February, affecting Eastern and Central Visayas, Negros Island, Siquijor, and additional areas of Mindanao, including the Zamboanga Peninsula, the Lanao provinces, and Bukidnon, with the same rainfall range anticipated.
