Rehabilitation and improvement work at the Iloilo International Airport passenger terminal building is 60 percent complete, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reported Monday.
According to the agency, completed work includes the installation of four escalators and three new chillers for the cooling system. Crews have also finished installing a new flight information display system, repaired the baggage handling system, and added new gang chairs and luggage trolleys for travelers.
“The steady progress of the Iloilo International Airport terminal improvements reflects CAAP’s commitment to providing safer, more efficient, and passenger-friendly airport facilities,” said CAAP director general Raul del Rosario. “These enhancements are designed to improve the overall travel experience.”
Del Rosario, a retired lieutenant general, noted that the project is being implemented in phases to ensure the airport remains operational.
