Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Vince Dizon has ordered regional offices to coordinate with the National Housing Authority (NHA)to implement P1.8 billion in housing and resettlement projects for informal settlers.
The multi-billion peso initiative, funded under the 2025 General Appropriations Act, aims to provide resettlement for families living in Metro Manila, Calabarzon and Central Luzon. According to a 22 January directive, DPWH regional offices will oversee the construction of the NHA’s Comprehensive and Integrated Housing Program and various resettlement facilities.
The DPWH Metro Manila office has been allocated P700 million to manage three major projects. These consist of a P300-million housing program in San Juan and P200-million programs each in Manila and Navotas.
In Calabarzon, the agency will supervise P800 million in total construction. This includes a P300-million multi-purpose building for the housing program in Rosario, Batangas, along with resettlement buildings in Naic, Cavite, valued at P300-million and Bacoor City at P200 million.
The DPWH Central Luzon office will oversee a P300 million multi-purpose building for the resettlement program in San Ildefonso, Bulacan.
Dizon stressed that regional coordination with the NHA and other relevant agencies is essential to ensure the effective delivery of these construction activities.
