The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development and the National Housing Authority have begun turning over newly completed housing units to beneficiaries in Valenzuela City under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino program.
Housing officials on Friday led the inauguration rites at the Arkong Bato Disiplina Village, marking the initial occupancy of units built less than two years after the project’s groundbreaking in 2023, which was led by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling and NHA General Manager Joeben Tai spearheaded the ceremonies at the site along M.H. Del Pilar Street in Barangay Arkong Bato.
“Patunay muli ang Arkong Bato Disiplina Village project dito sa Valenzuela City sa pagtupad sa hangarin ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. na maghatid ng disente, ligtas at abot-kayang pabahay sa pamilyang Pilipino sa ilalim ng Expanded 4PH Program (The Arkong Bato Disiplina Village project here in Valenzuela City once again proves the fulfillment of the vision of Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to deliver decent, safe and affordable housing to Filipino families under the Expanded 4PH Program),” Aliling said.
The development is designed to include 20 residential buildings that will generate around 1,000 housing units. Beneficiaries include informal settler families affected by the Manila Bay cleanup program.
The Arkong Bato project is part of the administration’s push to accelerate housing construction and build sustainable communities for low-income households nationwide. The Expanded 4PH Program is the government’s flagship initiative to address the national housing backlog through the delivery of safe and affordable homes.
In a related activity, DHSUD and the Social Housing Finance Corporation distributed certificates of lot allocation to residents of Barangay Wawang Pulo in Valenzuela under the enhanced community mortgage component of the Expanded 4PH.
DHSUD Senior Undersecretary Eduardo Robles Jr., head of the Expanded 4PH Project Management Office, joined Aliling, Tai and other housing officials during the turnover ceremonies.
