A rider died after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a parked truck along C6 By-Pass Road, Barangay Ampid 1, San Mateo, Rizal early Sunday morning.
Initial police investigation showed that while the truck was parked at the side of the road, changing its tires along the eastbound direction toward Batasan, Quezon City, it was accidentally hit from behind by a motorcycle traveling in the same direction.
As a result of the impact, the rider—identified only by the alias Ren—sustained severe head injuries and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
The cadaver was subsequently transferred to a nearby funeral home for autopsy examination to determine the cause of death.
The truck driver, identified only as alias Roland, is temporarily detained at the San Mateo Municipal Police Station custodial facility while facing charges for Reckless Imprudence Resulting in Homicide.
