DAVAO CITY — The stage is set for the much-anticipated return of IRONMAN 70.3 in Davao City.
Davao City Administrator Atty. Francis Mark Layog said that they are leaving no stone unturned in rolling out the red carpet for the world’s best triathletes in the prestigious event that would be held on 22 March.
He added that they will be offering P500,000 to the winning entry in the flag team division.
“The city continues to play a vital role in ensuring a safe, welcoming and global competitive race for athletes from here and country and abroad. We are proud to say, we are ready,” Layog said during the IRONMAN 70.3 media launch where executives of Davao City and the organizing Sunrise Events Inc. formally signed the memorandum of agreement last Thursday.
This year’s edition of the IRONMAN 70.3 will feature a new bike course such as traversing the newly-opened Davao City Coastal Road along with its coastal view with its swimming and run race routes.
The event will also offer qualifying slots to the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship.
