The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has issued a show-cause order against the driver of a luxury SUV who used unauthorized emergency blinkers while leaving a club in Pasay City.

In a statement, LTO chief and Transportation Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao stressed that sirens, blinkers, and other unauthorized accessories are strictly prohibited for private vehicles.

“Unauthorized automobile accessories are not just against the law, but may pose a danger to the safety of other road users,” Lacanilao said. “We urge all motorists to ensure their vehicles follow LTO regulations so that our streets remain safe for all.”

The agency has placed the driver’s license under a 90-day preventive suspension and flagged the vehicle under an LTO alarm to block any future transactions.
