BAGUIO CITY — Police and anti-narcotics agents seized more than P32 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested two suspects during a series of operations across Kalinga, Benguet, and Baguio City on Wednesday and Thursday.
The Police Regional Office Cordillera reported that the two-day sweep included the recovery of high-grade marijuana bricks, the destruction of 13 plantations, and the arrest of two suspected street-level dealers.
The largest recovery occurred in Tinglayan, Kalinga, where police found 11 sacks containing 217 kilograms of dried marijuana bricks abandoned in Barangay Upper Bangad.
Officers from the Tinglayan Municipal Police and the 2nd Kalinga Provincial Mobile Force Company responded after farmers alerted them to the suspicious cargo. The contraband is valued at P26.04 million.
