The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) served arrest warrants for former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) engineers Brice Hernandez and Jaypee Mendoza on Monday. They are set to be detained at Quezon City Jail in Payatas alongside former Senator Bong Revilla Jr.

The two were arrested following the suspension of a Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing. The NBI escorted them at around 8:00 p.m. and initially brought them to Pasay City.

The arrests follow the Sandiganbayan’s order on 20 January, which was served to seven individuals in connection with the alleged P92.8-million “ghost” flood control project in Pandi, Bulacan.

Senate President Tito Sotto III confirmed that he authorized the arrest warrants.

The same charges of malversation were also filed against Arjay Domasig, Emelita Juat, former DPWH Bulacan First DEO finance section chief Juanito Mendoza, and DPWH Bulacan First District Engineering Office cashier Christina Pineda.
