A 23-year-old woman was shot in the head while livestreaming her online selling business in Barangay Sta. Ana, Taytay, Rizal, on Thursday night.

The victim, identified only by the alias Paloma, was fighting for her life in a hospital as of this writing, Saturday.

Authorities are pursuing the suspect, identified by the alias Freddie, 31, a resident of Angono, Rizal.

Based on the investigation, the incident occurred at around 7:30 p.m. along Kenneth Road, Purok 4, in the town of Taytay.

Police said the victim was selling at a vegetable stall while streaming live when the suspect approached her from behind.

Without saying a word, the suspect allegedly shot the woman at close range.

The suspect fled on foot toward Lupang Arenda, authorities said.

At around 9:30 p.m., a duty desk officer received a report from a concerned citizen. The victim was rushed to Pasig City General Hospital for treatment.

“We are still determining the exact motive of the crime, especially since information was recovered showing that the victim was broadcasting live when the shooting occurred,” the Taytay Municipal Police Station said in a preliminary report.

The suspect faces a charge of frustrated murder. A manhunt is underway for his arrest.
