BAGUIO CITY — Many residents and netizens of Baguio waited for updates on the fire incident that happened at the office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Cordillera in the late afternoon of January 14, 2026.
At past 5:00 p.m. on the said date, personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Baguio, on board fire trucks, rushed to the office of the public works agency. At 5:43 p.m., Fire Marshal F/Supt. Mark Anthony Dangatan officially declared the fire out.
In a statement, the DPWH Cordillera announced that the affected area was limited to approximately two square meters of the office. No DPWH employee was reported injured in the fire incident.
“The Department is currently working in close coordination with the BFP and the local government of Baguio City to conduct an immediate and thorough investigation into the cause of the incident,” the agency stated.
