A 32-year-old man survived after reportedly being hit by a stray bullet during New Year’s Eve celebrations in Barangay San Andres, Cainta, Rizal.
Police identified the victim as alias Mark, a resident of No. 17 Landicho Street, Felix Subdivision, in the same barangay.
Initial investigation showed the incident occurred at around 10:05 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2025.
According to the report, the victim was sitting in front of his home when he suddenly felt pain in the right midsection of his body after being struck by a suspected stray bullet.
The victim was rushed to the Cainta Municipal Hospital for medical treatment.
At around 4:15 a.m. on 1 January 2026, the Tactical Operations Center of the Cainta Municipal Police Station received a call from the hospital to provide an update on the victim’s condition. A duty investigator immediately responded to verify the report.
Police said the bullet did not penetrate the victim’s body and that he only sustained bruises.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the source of the bullet and identify those who may be held accountable for the incident.
