To ensure public safety during the New Year celebrations, the Pampanga Police Provincial Office (PPO) has identified specific areas across the province where firecrackers and fireworks are allowed.
The Pampanga PPO said the designated locations include authorized Community Firecracker Zones (CFZ) and Fireworks Display Areas (FDA), aimed at promoting a safe and orderly celebration for residents and visitors.
According to the police, there are 24 Community Firecracker Zones in the following towns: Apalit (1 zone), Minalin (1), Arayat (1), Porac (3), Bacolor (2), San Fernando (2), Candaba (3), San Luis (1), Floridablanca (1), San Simon (1), Lubao (1), Sasmuan (1), Magalang (1), Sta. Ana (1), Masantol (1), Sta. Rita (1), Mexico (1), and Sto. Tomas (1).
The Pampanga PPO also listed 16 authorized Fireworks Display Areas located in Apalit (1), Arayat (1), Candaba (1), Floridablanca (1), Lubao (1), Mabalacat (1), Masantol (1), Mexico (1), Minalin (1), Porac (1), San Fernando (1), San Luis (1), San Simon (1), Sta. Ana (1), Sta. Rita (1), and Sto. Tomas (1).
Police urged the public to familiarize themselves with the designated zones, noting that these areas were established to ensure safety while allowing communities to enjoy the festivities.
Activities involving firecrackers and fireworks outside the authorized zones are strictly prohibited. The Pampanga PPO warned that violators may face penalties, including fines of up to P20,000, imprisonment ranging from six months to one year, and possible administrative sanctions.
