As pageant crossovers continue to trend in 2025, familiar Filipina queens are once again sparking conversations about returning to the global stage.
Among them is Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Marquez Dee, who remains thoughtfully open to the idea of competing again just not quite yet.
Speaking during the OKGames Christmas Carnival in Parañaque City, Dee addressed buzz surrounding the inaugural Miss Grand International All Stars. While fans are eager to see her reclaim the crown-bearing spotlight, the actress-singer made it clear that timing is everything.
“Hindi pa ngayon ang tamang panahon for that, abangan niyo lang,” Dee shared, leaving the door ajar and the curiosity alive.
Rather than a firm yes or no, Dee framed a potential return as a calculated decision one that weighs passion against consequence. For her, pageantry is not just about glamour, but about understanding the stakes.
“There is a lot of risk. High reward, high risk. I never close doors naman. We assess every opportunity for what it has to offer. Malay niyo. Kaya never ako nagsasara,” she explained.
The beauty queen also expressed admiration for the All Stars concept, echoing the excitement of pageant followers who long to see iconic contenders back on stage.
“It is very smart. Very exciting makita natin nga idolo natin back on stage. Anyone, anything if hindi ka pa tapos, if may kaya ka pa ibuga sa iyong banda,” Dee said, highlighting the empowering nature of second chances.
She went on to describe the All Stars edition as something truly special. “That is such an amazing concept, and I am sure anyone part of it will see it as a once in a lifetime opportunity,” she added.
Dee’s pageant credentials speak for themselves. She represented the Philippines at Miss Universe in El Salvador, finishing in the Top 10 and taking home several special awards an achievement that firmly secured her place among the country’s most respected modern beauty queens.
Pageantry also runs deep in her bloodline. She is the daughter of Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez and the cousin of actress and beauty queen Winwyn Marquez.
The trio even came together onscreen, appearing in the music video of Dee’s debut single “Reyna.”
