The Davao City Coastal Bypass Road Segment B has officially opened to the public, promising faster and safer travel for motorists as part of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s ongoing infrastructure initiatives, Malacañang announced Friday.

In a Palace press briefing, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace Officer Claire Castro said President Marcos ensured that the road meets safety standards for motorists.

The new bypass significantly reduces travel time from over an hour to just 20-25 minutes.

She noted that the road is expected to provide major relief to commuters, especially as residents prepare for the upcoming Christmas season.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) assured the President that the road is safe for public use, citing completed safety measures, including newly installed solar street lights and guardrails.

The Bucana Bridge and two lanes of the Coastal Bypass Road were passable as of December 15 and are accessible from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

The opening of Segment B is expected to ease traffic congestion between southern Davao City and the downtown area, offering commuters a faster and safer route ahead of the holiday rush.
