TUBA, BENGUET — Two high-ranking Benguet Police officers were were ordered administratively relieved by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Those removed from their posts are PMaj. Peter Camsol Jr., the Acting Chief of Police of Tuba, and PCol. Lambert Suerte, the Provincial Director of the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO). The relief order was issued by Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla.

The DILG's directive stems from the officials' alleged failure to designate the area where former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Undersecretary Maria Catalina Cabral was found as a formal crime scene. The investigation into the handling of the incident is currently ongoing.

Authorities have not yet released further details regarding the specific circumstances of the discovery or the status of the former undersecretary.
