Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Acting District Director P/Col. Randy Glenn Silvio on Thursday reported the swift action of Novaliches Police Station 4 that led to the arrest of four motorcycle thieves and their accomplices believed to be part of a carnapping group operating in Novaliches and nearby areas.

Silvio said PS 4 Station Commander P/Lt. Col. Michael John Villanueva identified the suspects as alias “Ronald,” 35, a resident of Barangay 171 Bagumbong, Caloocan City; alias “Michael,” 46; alias “Prince Ryan,” 31; alias “Wilmor,” 47; and alias “Eric,” 46, all residents of Barangay Gulod, Novaliches.

The operation stemmed from a report of motorcycle theft at No. 2 Mayon Street, Amparo Subdivision, Barangay Nagkaisang Nayon at around 4 a.m. on December 9. The complainant said her son’s motorcycle, which had been parked outside their residence the previous night, was taken shortly before dawn. She positively identified “Ronald” as the individual who stole the vehicle, prompting PS 4 operatives to immediately launch a pursuit operation.

Police later found “Ronald” and his four companions under the Tullahan Bridge in Barangay Gulod, where they were in possession of several motorcycles and assorted motorcycle parts. When asked to present documents, the suspects failed to show proof of ownership, leading to their arrest the same day.

Recovered from the group were three motorcycles of various models; multiple motorcycle parts including fairings, side mirrors, a crankcase, mags, a front fender, and a motorcycle pipe; and one can of pylox spray paint believed to have been used to alter the appearance of stolen motorcycles. Further verification revealed that “Ronald” is an identified member of the ALBIA Criminal Gang, a group linked to a series of carnapping incidents in Novaliches and nearby barangays.

The suspects will face charges for violating P.D. 1612 (Anti-Fencing), while Ronald will face an additional charge under R.A. 10883 (Carnapping).

“Public vigilance remains crucial in combating motorcycle theft in the city. This incident shows how timely reporting and cooperation from our residents directly contribute to the successful arrest of criminal elements. Kaya hinihikayat namin ang publiko na huwag mag-atubiling tumawag sa E911 o QC Helpline 122 para sa anumang insidente upang matiyak ang agarang pagresponde,” Silvio said.
