Some 108 students are set to benefit from a newly inaugurated P5,185,419 school building in Barangay Guiteb, Ramos, Tarlac, which officially opened on 10 December 2025.
According to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 3, the “Construction of School Building” sub-project was implemented under the Kapangyarihan at Kaunlaran sa Barangay (KKB) program. The initiative aims to provide a new facility that will serve as a home for learning, dreams, and opportunities for the youth.
The project was funded through P5,167,569 from the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan–Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) grant, supplemented by P17,850 in local cash and in-kind contributions.
Construction started on 31 July 2025, and was completed on November 14, 2025. While the project initially targeted 81 student beneficiaries, the number has since grown to 108 learners who will now use the new school building. For these students, the facility represents a safe, secure, and inspiring space for education.
DSWD FO3 said the project reflects the core principles of Community-Driven Development (CDD), with residents, volunteers, and the local government working together from planning and decision-making to implementation.
The field office continues to support schools and students in Central Luzon through its programs, including Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) Education, which provides cash aid for school needs, and KALAHI-CIDSS, which funds community-led initiatives such as school construction. Programs like Tara, Basa! further strengthen youth literacy and community involvement, reinforcing partnerships with LGUs to uplift vulnerable sectors.
