The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) on Tuesday awarded a P21 million check to the Centennial Sunrise Homeowners’ Association, Inc., part of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.

The check is intended for the acquisition of land occupied by beneficiaries of SHFC’s Enhanced Community Mortgage Program (ECMP), one of the modalities under the Expanded 4PH Program. The payment is aimed at facilitating the community’s transition to legal and secure land ownership.

In addition, SHFC provided a grant of more than P84,000 to cover the documentary stamp tax on the mortgage. The ECMP focuses not only on land acquisition but also on other benefits intended to improve the lives of beneficiaries.

SHFC Secretary Laxa personally handed over the checks during a ceremony with officers and members of the Centennial Sunrise Homeowners Association.

“Alinsunod ito sa direktiba ng Pangulong Marcos Jr. na bigyan ng mas may dignidad na pamumuhay sa ating mga kababayan sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay sa kanila ng seguridad. We want every Filipino family to feel the assurance and dignity that come with owning the land they live on,” Laxa said.

“Maagang pamasko po ito hatid ng Pangulong Marcos Jr. Nawa'y magsilbi ito na bagong pag-asa at inspirasyon sa ating mga kababayan upang mas magsikap at maging parte ng nation-building,” he added.

During the ceremony, Deputy Administrator Lee Robert Britanico of the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System Regulatory Office (MWSS RO) said qualified members of Centennial Sunrise HOA could access the Enhanced Lifeline Program (ELP), a government initiative offering discounted water rates to eligible low-income consumers. The program follows a memorandum of understanding signed by SHFC and MWSS RO on December 5.

Centennial Sunrise HOA, which has 175 members, is one of five ECMP communities that received Certificates of Lot Award from President Marcos during the National Housing Expo in Pasay City on October 23.

Headquartered in Makati, SHFC is a key shelter agency under DHSUD.make titile
