More than P400,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized from two drug suspects were arrested in an anti-illegal drugs operation in Marikina City on Friday night.
The suspects—identified only by their aliases Boyet and Aldrin, both 41 years old and residents of this city—were apprehended in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Fortune at about 6:15 P.M.
Alias Aldrin had been previously put behind bars for 10 years for illegal drugs and had just been released for 3 months. While alias Boyet was released sometime in 2023. He was also incarcerated due to illegal drugs.
Seized from the suspects during operation were three heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, one knot-tied transparent plastic containing suspected shabu, one piece of black bubble wrap with suspected shabu, and P500 buy-bust money.
The estimated street value of the seized 60 grams of suspected shabu is approximately P408,000.
All confiscated items have been submitted for laboratory examination at the Eastern Police District Forensic Unit to confirm their illicit nature.
The two suspects are currently detained at the Marikina City Police Station custodial facility while the necessary documents are being prepared for the violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
They will be presented for inquest proceedings before the Office of the City Prosecutor of Marikina.
