Barangay chief slain after leaving mayor’s celebration; manhunt underway

Barangay Balibago Chairman Jinqui Quiambao was shot dead by unknown assailants while returning home from attending the birthday celebration of Mayor Dan Guintu in Masantol, Pampanga on 25 November 2025.

The murder was confirmed by Mayor Guintu during an interview at a local station in Pampanga, adding that the barangay official had just left the premises of the mayor’s house.

Quiambao was on his way home along with barangay captains of Alauli, Bagang, and Nigui when they were fired upon by armed suspects.

The police immediately launched a hot pursuit operation against the suspects as they investigate the motive behind the killing.
