TAMPAKAN, SOUTH COTABATO — Continuing its long-standing partnership with local communities, Sagittarius Mines Inc. (SMI) has reinforced its commitment to community health by providing essential medicines, vitamins, and medical supplies to Barangay Danlag in Tampakan.
The donation, formally turned over to local health officials, aims to support the needs of residents, particularly infants, pregnant women, children, and individuals requiring maintenance medication.
Barangay Captain Magbanua expressed gratitude for SMI’s continued assistance, describing it as a lifeline for vulnerable members of the community.
“This is a huge help for us, especially for those who rely on daily maintenance medicines. SMI’s consistent support through the years reflects its genuine concern for Barangay Danlag and the entire Tampakan community,” Magbanua said.
The initiative is part of SMI’s Community Partnership Program, a major component of its Social Development and Management Program (SDMP), which focuses on improving public health, education, and livelihood in its host and neighboring communities.
SMI said its sustained support for local health initiatives highlights its broader goal of promoting sustainable development and improving the quality of life for Tampakan residents.
Through programs like this, SMI continues to demonstrate that responsible mining goes hand in hand with caring for the people and communities where it operates.
