Authorities arrested a man wanted for murder and confiscated a gun and hand grenade from him in Barangay Maharlika, Taguig City, on Sunday.
Police identified the suspect as 34-year-old alias “Ryam,” unemployed, and a resident of the said barangay.
The arrest stemmed from a follow-up operation around 2 a.m. along Quiapo Dos, Tawi-Tawi Street, by operatives from the Station Intelligence Section and Tracker Team in connection with a recent shooting incident.
During surveillance, police spotted the suspect running while clutching a firearm. Seized from him were a Colt .45 pistol loaded with three live bullets and a hand grenade.
Records confirmed that “Ryam” has an active warrant of arrest for murder issued in October 2024 with no recommended bail.
He was brought to the Taguig-Pateros District Hospital for medical examination before being turned over to the Station Investigation and Management Section for filing of charges.
