Police arrested a 33-year-old man early Sunday morning for illegal possession of live ammunition in Barangay Manuyo Dos, Las Piñas City.
The suspect, identified as “Ethelbert,” a resident of Nicanor Abelardo Street in Barangay BF Homes, Parañaque City, was apprehended by the Las Piñas City Police Station along Chronicle Street, BF Martinville, at around 5:55 a.m.
Initial reports showed that authorities responded to a citizen’s tip about a suspicious man allegedly carrying a pistol. Upon arrival, officers spotted the suspect with the handle of a gun visible from his sling bag.
While the firearm turned out to be a replica pistol, police found a real Canik TP Series 9mm magazine loaded with one live round inside the bag.
The suspect was arrested and now faces a complaint for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, to be filed before the Las Piñas City Prosecutor’s Office.
