Internationally-acclaimed author John Green was recently spotted on the island-province of Guimaras.
Photos shared by John Calopez on Facebook appear to show John Green speaking at a luncheon for the TB-Free Guimaras Island Initiative, where he also held a signing session for his book Everything Is Tuberculosis.
Known for novels such as The Fault in Our Stars, Looking for Alaska, and Turtles All the Way Down, Green’s works explore themes of love, loss and the search for meaning among young people. His writing has earned numerous awards and inspired film adaptations, while his accessible, honest portrayal of adolescent struggles has cemented his place as one of the most influential voices in contemporary young adult literature.
Through his YouTube projects — most notably Vlogbrothers and Crash Course, co-created with his brother Hank — Green has helped make education engaging and accessible to millions around the world.
Beyond literature, Green is widely recognized for his advocacy in mental health awareness, global health, and educational equity. He and his brother founded the Project for Awesome, an annual online fundraiser supporting various charities and have partnered with organizations such as Partners In Health and Save the Children.
Green openly discusses his own experiences with obsessive-compulsive disorder, encouraging public conversations around mental wellness and empathy.
