CAMP BGEN EFIGENIO NAVARRO, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro — Police intensified their anti-crime operations in Mimaropa, resulting in the arrest of the top most wanted person and two others in Romblon, while two drug pushers were also caught Thursday in Victoria, Oriental Mindoro.
Police Regional Office Mimaropa Director Brig. Gen. Badua reported the arrest of alias “Chris,” 23, ranked as San Andres, Romblon’s top 1 most wanted, in Barangay Mabini, San Andres, Romblon, through the efforts of the San Andres Municipal Police Station.
The arrest was based on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 82 in Odiongan, Romblon, for attempted parricide, with bail set at P120,000.
Also arrested were alias “Wendy,” 32, for qualified theft, and alias “Elmer,” 49, for violating Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The three suspects are in police custody and will be turned over to the appropriate courts.
In separate operations, police also arrested two individuals for illegal drug activities in Oriental Mindoro.
Alias “Kevin,” 29, listed as a street-level individual, was caught in Sitio 3, Barangay Sampaguita, Victoria, Oriental Mindoro, after allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu worth P500 to a police poseur-buyer. Authorities seized approximately 1.8 grams of suspected shabu worth P11,000, the buy-bust money, and drug paraphernalia.
Alias “Yael,” 38, listed as a high-value individual, was arrested in Sitio Narra, Barangay Motoderazo, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro, after allegedly selling suspected shabu worth P10,000 to a poseur-buyer. Authorities confiscated about 2 grams of suspected shabu valued at P13,600, the buy-bust money, and related items.
The arrested drug suspects are now under police custody, and complaints for violations of RA 9165 are being prepared for inquest proceedings, Badua added.
