Dearest gentle reader, save the date as Netflix’s hit Regency-era romance is upon us.
Bridgerton season four’s first four episodes will debut on 29 January 2026 and the remaining four will drop on 26 February 2026.
In a teaser uploaded on social media, the upcoming season revealed that it will focus on the love story of Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha) and the Bridgerton family’s second eldest son, Benedict (Luke Thompson).
According to Netflix, despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, “Benedict is loath to settle down — until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.”
Benedict, restless in his usual cavalier ways, had sworn off attachments. After all, his older brother Anthony was settled and Colin paired. But when his eyes fell on Sophie Baek, everything Benedict thought he knew cracked.
“The storyline is a bit of a twist on Cinderella. You remember being told those stories as a child — the magic and the romance of them,” Thompson said. “It’s really exciting to have that weaved into the world that we know of Bridgerton… It’s such a great story, but it’s also, I hope, really relatable.”
Sophie Baek, on the other hand, is a maid, secret‑keeper and dreamer. She had only attended the ball at the urging of her stepsisters and the cold eye of Lady Araminta, who insisted appearance and position must be preserved.
“What drew me to Sophie was that she immediately has obstacles — something that she constantly has to overcome,” Ha said. “Whether it’s this battle around social status or trying to hide her feelings from Benedict.”
As Sophie slipped away at midnight, Benedict stood torn between what society demanded and the spark he could no longer ignore.
