The Office of the Vice President's (OVP) satellite office in Pangasinan conducted a gift-giving activity for the sellers of religious items, souvenirs, and local delicacies whose livelihoods are closely tied to the stream of pilgrims and tourists.
The gift-giving activity forms part of the OVP’s 90th anniversary celebration and the Vice President's commitment to personally connect with the marginalized sectors and understanding the daily challenges faced by micro-entrepreneurs.
After that, Vice President Sara Duterte also conducted a personal visit and pilgrimage to the Basilica Minore of Our Lady of Manaoag today, taking the opportunity to engage directly with the community dependent on the popular religious site.
During her private visit to the church, Duterte also spent time with the vendors operating near the shrine.
The brief visit emphasized a focus on service and compassion, reinforcing the importance of faith and community for national strength.
