Hilton (NYSE: HLT) and Ayala Land Hospitality have signed an agreement to open Canopy by Hilton Makati in 2026, marking the lifestyle hotel brand’s debut in the Philippines. The property will be part of the One Ayala development, a new Makati landmark that blends culture, creativity, and commerce at the city’s busiest intersection.

Canopy by Hilton, known for stylish and locally connected stays, currently operates more than 40 hotels in 14 countries and territories, with over 40 more in the pipeline. The Makati location will carry the brand’s design ethos, blending modern comfort with artistic touches inspired by Manila’s creative and cultural scene.

“Introducing our Canopy brand to the Philippines is a significant milestone, especially in such a vibrant junction in the heart of Makati. Metro Manila is ripe for a fresh perspective on hospitality, and we believe Canopy’s lifestyle approach will resonate with both local and international guests,” said Maria Ariizumi, Hilton Vice President for Development in Southeast Asia. “This launch also marks the beginning of a meaningful partnership with Ayala Land Hospitality, who are passionate stewards of the Canopy vision.”

The 24-storey hotel will house 400 rooms and suites, alongside a rooftop bar with skyline views, a destination restaurant, and a speakeasy that reflects Manila’s eclectic character. It will also feature a pool deck, high-performance gym, and meeting spaces designed for creative events and celebrations.

“The Philippines continues to shine as a vibrant and dynamic destination, celebrated for its rich cultural heritage and warm, welcoming people, making it an ideal setting for the Canopy experience,” said Alexandra Murray, Hilton Area Vice President and Regional Head for Southeast Asia.

Ayala Land Hospitality President and CEO George Aquino said the collaboration is about more than expanding room capacity. “It’s not just about adding rooms—it’s about creating stays that spark curiosity and celebrate Filipino creativity. This exciting collaboration brings us closer to our goal of shaping the Philippines into a must-visit destination, one unforgettable stay at a time,” he said.

Guests will have access to Hilton Honors benefits, including flexible payment options, exclusive member discounts, free Wi-Fi, and app-based services.
