Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival and Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro have asked the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Central Visayas for a list of its flood control projects, citing reports of 414 projects in the region.
Archival told DAILY TRIBUNE that the projects fall under the jurisdiction of the DPWH-Cebu City, but he was unaware of any specific projects awarded to QM Builders.
Earlier, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. had reportedly identified QM Builders as the contractor for 414 flood control projects in Cebu.
Separately, Baricuatro requested the DPWH-7 to provide a list of all flood control projects that have been implemented, are currently in progress, or are up for bidding.
Provincial Engineer Hector Jamora told DAILY TRIBUNE that QM Builders does not have any infrastructure contracts with the provincial government.
“We (in the province) do not have flood control projects and QM Builders has no contract with the province,” Jamora said.
According to reports reaching Cebu media, QM Builders was awarded four flood control projects in Cebu, each valued at P144 million.
One of the projects is reportedly located at the Mananga River in Sitio Tigib, Barangay Lagtang, Talisay City.
DAILY TRIBUNE attempted to contact QM Builders owner Engr. Allan Quirante for comment but had not received a response as of Tuesday.
