The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), in collaboration with the Bureau of Immigration and South Korean authorities, arrested Korean national Jang Sejong on 8 August 2025 in Parañaque City.

Reports showed Jang was the subject of an active Interpol Red Notice for multiple fraud charges, NBI Director Jaime Santiago said.

The operation, led by the NBI International Operations Division (NBI-IOD) and the Bureau of Immigration's Fugitive Search Unit (BI-FSU), took place at Bayshore 1 Resorts Condominium in Barangay Tambo.

After coordinating with building security, the team apprehended Jang in Unit 12A and served the Interpol Red Notice. He was informed of the charges against him and his constitutional rights.

Following his arrest, Jang underwent standard booking procedures at the NBI, including fingerprinting and a medical examination, before being transferred to the Bureau of Immigration for deportation proceedings.
