BINI is once again raising the Filipino flag high, this time through a playful yet powerful homage to Filipino childhood. In their newest music video “Shagidi,” released via the BINI Official YouTube channel, the nation’s girl group darlings reintroduce a classic Pinoy street game with a fresh, vibrant twist.

Set against the urban playground of a skate park, the MV bursts with energy and color as Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena show off fierce moves inspired by the nostalgic hand game “Shagidi Shagidi Shapopo.” The choreography not only showcases their individual charisma but also weaves cultural memory into the modern-day P-pop soundscape.

“We want to find ways to reflect who we are and where we come from,” shared group leader Jhoanna. “For our Filipino fans, we hope it sparks pride. For our foreign audience, we want it to be a gateway for them to be curious about our country.”

“Shagidi brought us a new BINI flavor and personality,” added Aiah. “It gave us a chance to explore a fiercer side of ourselves in this song and video.”

A global tour single with local roots
Released in June, “Shagidi” serves as the official tour single for the BINIverse World Tour, which has already made stops in Dubai, London, and various cities across the US and Canada. Despite their international reach, the group remains anchored to their Filipino roots.

The track was born from a songwriting camp in Davao, Philippines, and was crafted by a powerhouse team that includes Marqueze Parker, Tommy Brown, Courtin Jabrae, JBach, and rising Filipina singer-songwriter Angela Ken.

Award-winning momentum

Prior to the MV’s release, BINI was on a hot streak, bagging Group Artist of the Year and Concert of the Year at the New Hue Video Music Awards 2025, and taking home both OPM Artist of the Year and P-pop Artist of the Year at Monster RX 93.1’s Monster Music Awards 2024.

Now, their international acclaim continues to grow as they collect five nominations at the upcoming Jupiter Music Awards 2025, including:
• Female Group of the Year
• Album of the Year for BINIverse
• Song of the Year, Collaboration of the Year, and Music Video of the Year for “Cherry On Top (BINIMo Remix feat. Agnez Mo)”

A cultural reset in every beat

With “Shagidi,” BINI isn’t just dropping another catchy bop; they’re crafting cultural connections. The song is a bold declaration of identity, wrapped in irresistible beats, danceable rhythm, and nostalgic familiarity. It’s proof that you can go global while staying proudly local.

“We’re excited that something so familiar to us as kids can now be a part of our global performances,” said Sheena in a behind-the-scenes clip. “We hope it brings joy and curiosity.”
