ABS-CBN head of Star Magic and Polaris, Lauren Dyogi, expressed optimism over a potential long-term partnership between BINI and the Department of Tourism (DoT), saying the collaboration could help showcase not only Filipino music but also the country’s rich culture to the world.
Speaking after BINI’s courtesy visit to the DoT last week, Dyogi said the meeting marked the beginning of what could become a meaningful collaboration between the nation’s top P-pop girl group and the agency.
“It’s an honor for us to be here. As we’ve always said, we’re here to help promote not only OPM but also Filipino culture,” Dyogi said.
He added that a lasting partnership with the DoT would benefit not only BINI and ABS-CBN but the country as a whole.
Dyogi further revealed that discussions have opened the door to numerous possibilities.
“We have not finalized anything, but there are a lot of possibilities that we’re looking at. That wouldn’t have been possible if Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay and her team had not reached out and shared their vision of a partnership with those who bring Filipino pride,” he said.
According to Dyogi, the collaboration could serve as the start of a long-term effort to promote Philippine tourism through BINI’s growing influence both locally and internationally.
He also emphasized the importance of government support in helping Filipino artists expand their global reach.
“If we want our P-pop artists and OPM acts to become global talents, we need everyone’s support. Bringing our artists and our culture to the world requires all the resources and the government helping us out,” he said.
BINI recently paid a courtesy visit to the DoT as discussions continue on a possible partnership that would see the eight-member group help promote the Philippines to local and international audiences.
