Manny Jacinto is finally home.
The Filipino-Canadian actor is in the Philippines to promote Freakier Friday, the sequel to the highly successful 2003 movie Freaky Friday.
The film follows Tess (Jamie Lee Curtis) and Anna (Lindsay Lohan) as they endure another identity crisis — multiple body swaps involving Anna’s daughter and soon-to-be stepdaughter.
Jacinto portrays single dad Eric Reyes, Anna’s new love interest.
“It feels like a dream, honestly. I never would have thought,” Jacinto said at a fan event in SM Mall of Asia on 5 August.
Freakier Friday is directed by Nisha Ganatra and is based on the book Freaky Friday by Mary Rodgers. The film also stars Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, Rosalind Chao, Chad Michael Murray, Vanessa Bayer and Mark Harmon.
Jacinto is excited as he leads the Philippine premiere of the film.
“It’s an absolute dream to be here. It’s a little nerve-wracking because it’s with my fellow Filipinos. I hope I did you guys proud,” he added.
Jacinto is known for his roles in The Good Place (2016), Nine Perfect Strangers (2021), Top Gun: Maverick (2022) and The Acolyte (2024).
