Reigning M6 world champion ONIC PH showed resilience and growth after bouncing back from a surprising defeat to Aurora Turkey, securing a win over Area 77 in the lower bracket quarterfinals of Group B at the Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2025.

Despite entering the tournament as one of the heavy favorites, ONIC PH stumbled out of the gate with a 1-2 upset loss against Aurora Turkey in their opening match last Thursday. Head coach Tony “YnoT” Senedrin admitted the early loss served as a wake-up call for the team.

"It was really up to us to look at the loss objectively and make sure that we do know the opportunities we had," said Coach YnoT following their victory over Area 77.

"Mainly, from me, the draft. For my players, the execution and how to finish the game. It was definitely just a heads-up to all of us, knowing that we really need to be a hundred percent — even more than that — in order for us to secure a win moving forward."

Mid laner Frince "Super Frince" Ramirez echoed the sentiment, downplaying the idea of a shocking upset. Instead, he credited Aurora Turkey for coming prepared.

"It was not shocking to us because we know Aurora prepared for us," Super Frince stated.
