Batangas Governor Vilma Santos-Recto took part in a symbolic boodle fight on Tuesday, July 22, alongside officials from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) - CALABARZON, to assure the public that fish sourced from local waters remain safe for consumption.
The event, held amid ongoing concerns surrounding missing cockfighting personalities linked to the area, aimed to reinforce confidence in the province’s aquaculture.
“Buong puso naming ipinahayag na ang mga yamang-dagat mula sa aming lawa — partikular na ang mga isda — ay safe o ligtas kainin,” said the beloved actress-turned-public servant.
