NutriAsia’s Marilao Plant has once again earned the globally recognized FSSC 22000 Version 6 certification, reaffirming its strong commitment to food safety and quality. The certification was awarded on June 30, 2025, after a comprehensive audit by global inspection and verification leader SGS.
The certification confirms the plant’s continued compliance with the latest international food safety standards and reflects its dedication to delivering safe, high-quality products to Filipino consumers.
“Food safety is at the heart of everything we do,” said Egay Ortega, Plant Operations Manager and Food Safety Team Lead (FSTL). “This certification is a testament to our team’s hard work and our shared goal of ensuring every product meets the highest standards.”
Ortega led the audit preparations in close coordination with the Food Safety Core Team, composed of personnel from Total Quality Management (TQM), Supply Chain (SC), Research & Development (R&D), Corporate Procurement Group (CPG), and Human Resources (HR). Their daily efforts to maintain strict safety protocols played a critical role in securing the certification.
The audit, led by SGS, covered various areas including plant operations, systems management, and personnel training. The assessment confirmed that NutriAsia’s Marilao Plant has robust systems in place to manage food safety risks and ensure product integrity.
“It’s not just about passing an audit,” said Rossel Abangan, Senior TQM Manager. “It’s about knowing we’re doing right by our customers every single day. We will continue to help create Masarap, Masaya moments through our high-quality and safe products for our consumers everywhere.”
Employees across departments welcomed the achievement, which they viewed as a collective win. NutriAsia emphasized that certifications like this not only enhance internal practices but also help boost consumer confidence amid growing demands for product transparency.
“Keeping our quality certifications demonstrates our commitment to excellence, food safety, and customer trust,” said Susan Virador, NutriAsia’s Total Quality Management Group Head. “We will continue this momentum as we work toward maintaining the certifications of our other plants and strengthening our reputation within the organization and across the industry.”
NutriAsia’s Marilao Plant continues to set the benchmark for food safety in the Philippines, merging innovation with disciplined compliance to uphold its reputation as a trusted leader in the food manufacturing sector.
