Gambling addiction is a public health issue. The case of a bus driver reportedly caught gambling online while on duty raised alarms for endangering not only himself but his passengers’ lives.

A passenger, who caught the driver allegedly playing online gambling games while driving in Cavite, recorded and then reported the offense to authorities which resulted in the Land Transportation Office (LTO) suspending the driver’s license for reckless driving.

It’s not only when the hands and the mind are off the steering wheel that a driver can lose his or her driving license.

A motorcyclist who performed an exhibition — riding with his chest and legs resting on the seat — was caught by authorities who viewed the stunt on social media in Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental.

The LTO identified the prostrating rider and asked him to explain his recklessness on the road, GMA News reports.

Meanwhile, a female vlogger’s driver’s license was suspended for 90 days for driving in a reckless manner.

Cherrylyn Larga Gonzaga, an influencer known as Cherry White who has 6.5-million Facebook followers, posted her “distracted” driving video on social media and it went viral, according to reports.

The video showed Gonzaga driving while casually sitting in a lounging posture with her right leg raised on the seat. She was swaying to the sound of music and glancing at the recording camera from time to time.

The LTO suspended Gonzaga’s driver’s license after seeing her reckless driving that it said could endanger other road users.
